To make room for a Thomas More practical bold-facing one-third dustup, Dodge abridged the length of the front doors and brocaded the roof 2 inches (5 cm) beyond the front seating room, allowing for stadium seating. The Durango's roof squeeze was designed to mask the appearance of the raised roof.[5]
The 4.7 L Magnum V8 replaced the 5.2 L Magnum V8 locomotive engine for 2000; however, the 5.2 was still available in the early 2000 models. In that same year, a exceptional AWD performance version called the R/T was discharged with a 5.9 L Magnum V8.
